Timelines and Deadlines for Transitioning to a Hosted Plan
Is the transition to this new billing model mandatory now, or will all existing clients eventually be moved to this new model?
There are many advantages to migrating to a hosted plan, and we believe that all clients will eventually adopt this solution.
However, there is no obligation, and no end of support is planned.
When do you expect a fully web-based environment for all functionalities?
We anticipate a two-year timeline to transition to a fully web-based environment.
Is there a deadline by which all clients must make the transition?
There are many advantages to migrating to a hosted plan, and we believe that all clients will eventually adopt this solution.
However, there is no obligation, and no end of support is planned.
Will the current version of Prodon continue to evolve once the 100% web transition is complete?
You mentioned that improvements are only being developed in the 100% web version. Does this mean that if we don’t transition, our current version of Prodon will quickly become outdated and somewhat neglected?
The classic version of Prodon will continue to be supported: bug fixes, legislative or regulatory changes, customer service…
However, new features will be exclusive to the hosted version.
Is what you presented the current model, or the model once all functionalities are web-based? I understood that part of it would still be in the traditional client mode, and only new features would be web-based.
We presented the strategic development direction initiated to bring Prodon to a 100% web-based product over a two-year period.
At this stage, the transition to a hosted plan is simply a migration from one server to another for the current version of Prodon, with no interface changes.
Since the beginning of this year, all new developments have been programmed for the web, such as the Automated Processes we promoted in spring 2023.
As development and updates continue for the hosted version of Prodon, you will gradually see changes in interface, structure, etc.
Does redevelopment within two years mean the removal of client-hosted software within that timeframe?
The classic version of Prodon will continue to be supported: bug fixes, legislative or regulatory changes, customer service…
Will we be required to make the transition, or can we stay with the current application?
There is no urgency to convert to a hosted plan at this time.
The classic version of Prodon will continue to be supported: bug fixes, legislative or regulatory changes, customer service…
However, new features will be exclusive to the hosted version.
Transition to a Hosted Plan for Existing Clients
Will our entire database be transferred without any data loss (including all characteristics)?
Absolutely!
This is simply a migration of your database from one server to another, with no loss of content or change in structure.
The only change will be the method of accessing Prodon, which will now be through a web browser.
Additionally, you will have access to all new developments as updates are released.
How are updates managed?
For all versions of Prodon, whether classic or hosted, the client decides when to perform an update via the Help menu in Prodon.
See the update procedure.
However, if by “update” you mean the methodology for converting to a hosted plan:
- Before any conversion to a hosted plan, we validate your current annual fees (license, service contract, and monthly options) against the fees of each available plan.
- This simulation helps identify the most advantageous plan for your organization and allows us to review all current options and assess their relevance based on your management needs.
I’m not sure I understood how things work during the transition period when both the current Prodon and the web-based version coexist.
Will access be through the web, pointing to the current client-server version hosted by you?
So for the next two years, do we need to use both formats? Some functions in web and others, not yet available, remain hosted?
This is not a coexistence but rather a choice between the classic model (license + service contract) and the hosted plan.
Only the hosted version of Prodon will evolve toward a 100% web-based solution.
Netbanx?
Paysafe (Netbanx) remains the integrated payment gateway.
The transition does not involve any changes.
What will happen to the remote desktop where our reports and important documents are stored?
All documents stored in the classic version of Prodon will be hosted along with the database in the hosted plan.
Is there still a limit on the number of users per organization/plan?
How many users can we have?
There has never been a user limit in Prodon.
The maximum number of simultaneous users, previously offered in blocks of 5, is now available individually in the hosted plans.
Do we need to manually back up data every day?
All hosted plans include automated daily backups.
