Presentation

You can check if a newer version of your application is available with the web update tool. If your version is not updated, you can easily perform the update.

Warning: this process involves the shutting down of the application on all the workstations that are using it.

It should be noted that all the steps are done automatically; you simply need to follow the onscreen instructions.

Check the available version

  1. From the software home page, select the "Help" menu, then "Button Web.png Web Update".
  2. You will be asked the following question: "Do you want to call the update utility now?". Answer "Yes".
  3. If your version is updated, a message will ask whether you want to "Quit", "Display Beta versions" or "Cancel". Click on "Quit".
  4. A second message will ask if you want to restart the application now. Answer "Yes".
  5. If your version is not updated, you will then be able to use "ProTech Web" (see instructions below).

"ProTech Web" options

  1. An update is always made to the most recent displayed version in "ProTech Web".
  2. It is possible to consult the list of new features, improvements and corrections made since your latest update in the "List of modifications" section. You can print out this list by using the "Button Print Report.png Print" button.
  3. The "Display Beta versions" button allows you to check if a Beta version is available, as well as the list of modifications it contains. Note: A Beta version has all the features of the final version; it has undergone a series of tests internally and can be deployed. This last phase is used to validate the user interface and to detect any residual bugs. Warning: A Beta version still needs testing and may contain bugs.
  4. An option allows you to see the "French only" or "French and English" versions. Warning: If you are using the English interface, do not select "French only".

Update process

  1. To start the update process, click on "Button Web.png Download".
  2. The "Sofware License Agreement" will open. Check the box "I accept the terms of the software license agreement mentioned above.", then click on "Button Check mark Confirm.png Continue". You will see the evolution of the downloads onscreen.
  3. When the downloads are completed, answer "Yes" to the question: "Download completed successfully. Do you want to backup your data?" to start the automatic save. When the save is completed, you will get the following quote: "Once the backup is completed, press "OK" to continue installing.". Click on "Button Check mark Confirm.png Ok".
  4. A last question will ask you to confirm if you want to install the update now. Click on "Yes" and a progress bar will appear.
  5. When the installation of the update is completed, the following window will open : "Update completed successfully. Do you want to restart the application now?". Click on "Yes".

Restart your application

A final procedure of importation and update will run; you will then be able to use your software at its latest version.

We recommend you check regularly if your application is updated.
